The SynCom Anchor Retreat 2025 took place on November 12 and 13, 2025, at Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), Building 15.21. The meeting was organized by anchor persons Elena von Helden (IBG-1) and Ruth Scheidhauer (IBG-2).
The two-day workshop focused on exchanging information on the current status of SynCom's annual planning for the year 2026 and its strategic orientation within the framework of PoF-V. The SynCom team discussed important thematic priorities, future synergies, and the further development of joint activities.
A special highlight of the event were several lab tours, which offered insights into the diverse research areas at FZJ. On the first day, Julia Tenhaef (IBG-1) gave a tour of the AutoBioTech area. On the second day, further insights were provided into AgraSim (Marie Ludwig, IBG-3), Rhizo III and MRI (Robert Koller, IBG-2), and the atmospheric research facility SAPHIR (Anke Nölscher, ICE-3).
The anchor retreat was a very successful and constructive gathering that further strengthened cooperation within SynCom and provided valuable momentum for the upcoming years.
